Well Basecamp

Editorial Policy

What we publish

Well Basecamp publishes educational content about metabolic health, currently focused on life with GLP-1 medications: nutrition, muscle preservation, side-effect management, and the practical economics of treatment. We write for real people making real decisions, so our standard is simple: would this hold up if your endocrinologist read it over your shoulder?

Sourcing standards

  • Factual claims about medications, outcomes, or physiology must trace to peer-reviewed research, official regulatory sources (FDA, FTC), or clinical guidelines — and we link to them in the article.
  • We prefer primary sources (the trial itself) over coverage of them.
  • Where evidence is limited or evolving, we say so explicitly rather than round uncertainty up to certainty.
  • We never cite results we can't verify, and we never use before/after imagery or testimonials to imply typical outcomes.

How affiliate revenue works here

This site is funded by affiliate commissions: when readers buy through some of our links, we may earn a fee at no extra cost to them. Three rules keep that honest:

  • Every page containing affiliate links carries a clear disclosure at the top.
  • Editorial conclusions are written before monetization is considered. We recommend against products and services that pay us when the evidence points that way, and we decline partnerships that require favorable coverage.
  • Prices we quote are the all-in cost as best we can determine it, including the fees the advertiser's headline number leaves out.

Medical review

Our articles are educational and are not currently reviewed by a licensed clinician. We do not display medical-review badges we haven't earned. As the site grows, flagship articles will be reviewed by a named, credentialed professional and labeled accordingly — with their name and credentials, not a generic badge.

Corrections and updates

The GLP-1 landscape changes quickly. We date every article, revisit money-related pages quarterly, and correct errors promptly when readers or the evidence flag them. Found something wrong? Email hello@wellbasecamp.com — corrections make the site better and we genuinely want them.

What we will not do

  • No "generic Ozempic" claims or promotion of unlicensed drug sources.
  • No guaranteed-results language, ever.
  • No sponsored content disguised as editorial.
  • No medical advice — we inform the conversation with your clinician; we never replace it.
